C. Diff: Have to be concerned about an infection in the colon caused by a bacterium called clostridium difficila. Most often occurs after given an antibiotic for some other reason (appendicitis). Anitibiotics can kill off "good" bacteria in colon leading to over growth of bad bugs- c. Diff. Need to have stool checked and if present treated with oral antibiotics. See PCP: An issue like this needs assessment by GI consultant. I would not try to manage you in my office unless totally sure of the diagnosis. It may be ibs but there are other things to think about. Pcp can discuss issues with you and do physical exam. Could try a medication until GI consult seen. Do not let go with out pcp visit. ...Read more

If it is not possible, then you will want to be checked on for important causes like appendicitis. This sounds important.
