Lansoprazole Amoxicillin Clarithromycin And Metronidazole Medication
H pylori gastritis did 3 treatments so far all with amoxicillin and clarithromycin, metronizadole and third with tetracycline. Why am not cured yet?
H.Pylori: Sorry to hear about your ongoing issues. First, was your H.Pylori confirmed by a test? Second, was a test done to confirm eradication after you were done with your treatments? I guess this may help you figure out what's going on. If the post treatment test is positive, then the treatments were not successful. If the test is negative, then it's not H.Pylori at this time causing the symptoms. ...Read more

Uncertain: Prevpac (lansoprazole amoxicillin and clarithromycin) cconsists of 3 different medications. Two of these are antibiotics and one is an acid reducer. There are many possibilities how these medications could affect the heart rhythm, but the exact mechanism is not worked out. When a side effect profile is added to a medicine, the mechanism is often speculated, but not known for sure. Start with your doctor if prevpac (lansoprazole amoxicillin and clarithromycin) causes this. Take care. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
When should I begin to feel better after taking a prevpac (lansoprazole amoxicillin and clarithromycin) for h pylori?
Couple of weeks....: The ulcers may take several weeks to heal...You may actually get more symptoms after starting the medication...Because as the bacteria die off, the stomach heals and able to produce more acid than before...So some people may get this increase for awhile...The Prevpac (lansoprazole amoxicillin and clarithromycin) is not 100% effective so follow-up with doc for test-of-cure (often a breath-test).. If much worse, consult doci.. Good luck.. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Does prevpac (lansoprazole amoxicillin and clarithromycin) cause tachycardia and if so how long does it take to ware off after the cycle is done?
I'm currently on metronidazole 400g 3 tablets a day and amoxicillin 500g 6 tablets a day, I'm on these due to a infection, I feel tired an drowsy?
Not sure what type: of infection you are treating with the above antibiotics, but chances are your symptoms may be more related to the disease course than the actual antibiotics. Metronidazole is known to cause some GI symptoms including nausea and vomiting, anorexia and fatigue, so it is possible that you are feeling effects of that drug. I've been drinking while taking these antibiotics. Aside from side affects will alcohol cancel the benifits of them? Metronidazole and amoxicillin.
I just finished taking a prevpac (lansoprazole amoxicillin and clarithromycin) treatment for 14 days. Do I need to continue with acid blockers? If yes, for how long? What brand?
Not for infection: However, if GERD is still a concert u should. Any PPI will do unless specific other factors involved (ex. Plavix (clopidogrel) intake, etc). Discuss with ur doctor, as taking PPI isn't without a risk and benefits should be discussed and compared. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I about am one week after taking the prevpac (lansoprazole amoxicillin and clarithromycin) for h pylori, today I started feeling weird, I scared to think that the h pylori is back, any advice?
Try probiotics: It is unlikely that you would have re-infected yourself with h. pylori after a week. Your symptoms may be some discomfort caused by the antibiotics, which inadvertently kill some of the "good" bacteria in your intestines in addition to killing the h.pylori bacteria. You can try yogurt three times a day, or taking an over the counter probiotic in your local pharmacy. See your MD if it continues. ...Read more
Maybe OK, but...: Some infections are treated simultaneously with two or more antibiotics. Amoxicillin and metronidazole are not a common combination, but not too unusual. However, if you were already taking one drug for one infection, and the doctor treating the second was unaware of the first, you should call either or both doctors and clarify whether to take both. ...Read more
Is it ok to continue prevacid 30mg capsules while awaiting prevpac (lansoprazole amoxicillin and clarithromycin) prescription to be filled?
I'm taking Metronidazole and Amoxicillin together but my stool is extremelywatery and I have to go often. Should I stop taking one of the two or both?
Not yet, contact MD: It's too hard to counsel you to stop without weighing so many different things, including (but not limited to): why you're taking the medication, when the watery stools started relative to when you started the antibiotics, and how far into your course you are. That said, contact your prescriber (or pharmacy if not possible) for this real-time discussion, as it *may* be an effect. ...Read more
