Good question: Transaminases ( alt / ast) and albumen are ok? Sounds like Lamictal is being titrated . Carbamazepine 10-11 epoxide should be checked as well as the cbc. Need a bit more information. He neurologist needs to discuss this ( there are other reasons for elevated ggt). ...Read more

Explanation: Both Lamictal and Topamax (topiramate) are anti-epileptic drugs, and both could control seizures in an additive fashion. But both have therapeutic ranges, and doses may not be sufficient to control all spells. You doctor obviously feels there may be break-through events that need to be confirmed.
