Rash: It would be rash to try and diagnose a cutaneous eruption without seeing it. Yours sounds like it may either be a contact dermatitis or an allergic reaction, but there are several diseases endemic to South America which can produce lesions of this nature. Would strongly suggest that you find an infectious diseases expert to see you. Bring along a full list of all sites of travel, contacts, animals ...Read more

Could mixing clotrimazole, tolfinate, & Lamisil (terbinafine) in a paste help with an unknown circular rash? Clotrimazole alone not working. C my face?

Could mixing clotrimazole, tolfinate, & Lamisil (terbinafine) in a paste help with an unknown circular rash? Clotrimazole alone not working. C my face?

See derm: This is a little overkill and will work only if this is a fungal rash. From what I can see in the tiny photo this may or may not be fungal. Could be erythema marginatum - although face is unusual, annular lichen planus, granuloma annulare, etc. Best bet is to see dermatologist... ...Read more

My daughter has a rash in between her fingers where the finger connects to the next finger/hand. Lamisil (terbinafine) isn't working so is this not a ringworm?

My daughter has a rash in between her fingers where the finger connects to the next finger/hand. Lamisil (terbinafine) isn't working so is this not a ringworm?

Maybe: Ringworm/fungal infection is occasionally found between fingers and toes. This could be a fungal infection that is resistant to lamisil (terbinafine). However, eczema can also imitate fungal infection, and cause redness and peeling and itching. You may want your doctor to take a fine scraping of rash and send to lab for microscopy before further treatment. You can fine tune the treatment, knowing the cause. ...Read more

I was taking lamosil for 35 days when I started breaking out in a rash and hives. How long will that last? I've been off for 3 wks?

I was taking lamosil for 35 days when I started breaking out in a rash and hives. How long will that last? I've been off for 3 wks?

Up to about 3months: Lamisil (terbinafine) can last in the system for a long time because it distributes to skin, nail, central nervous system and even adipose (fat) tissue. It may remain in the system for up to 3 months after therapy is discontinued. Increase water intake to help its elimination. The rash/hives should be improving with time. If its not improving or getting worse please see your physician for care. ...Read more

I have jock itch, have used terbinafine cream. It is disapearing but I noticed some small rash on the penis itself. Should I smear cream on the penis?

I have jock itch, have used terbinafine cream. It is disapearing but I noticed some small rash on the penis itself. Should I smear cream on the penis?

Maybe not the same: I would be hesitant to recommend for the penis because it is indicated for fungal infection in areas where skin is stronger and mainly because we don't know if what you have there is fungus. Monitor and if it gives you symptoms, consult a dermatologist. ...Read more

I have either ringworm or a rash on my skin my urgent care doctor said its ringworm prescribed my to terbinafine pills about two days ago.

Should work: If the diagnosis is correct, this should work. I have never used oral pills on skin ringworm since they have more potential for side effects than topical meds. I find OTC tinactin (tolnaftate) applied 2X day for a week or so would be a cheep and effective alternative. ...Read more

No spray.: Don't use a spray, apply otc Hydrocortisone cream twice a day. And wash the socks, to wash out the formalin that is usually the cause of rashes like that.
