Other otc preparations have different chemicals and could be tried after after one month of no results. Moisture is a large factor so I recommend an anti fungal powder in the mornings. Why colonoscopy?: Fissure may have been only cause of bleeding, but doc needs to make certain that was the only cause. Diverticula, Crohn's ds, polyps, cancer call all cause rectal bleeding. Colon cancer is not something to wait and see; once it's there, it's very hard to treat. Prevention is much better than needing treatment.
