Immune modulation: may have indeed caused the drop in white cells. Gingivitis can occur with Co Q10 deficiency. (use of B interferon) Make sure your Folate, (folic acid) B12 and B6 levels are normal (CoQ10 wont work if any are low) Consider taking Co Q10 (the antioxidant form). I've taken lamictal 200 mg once a day for 10 years. During that time I've lost 2/3rds of my hair. Could lamictal be the cause?
Not common: Some antiepileptics cause hair loss (Depakote) which is significant but Lamictal isn't one of them that I'm aware of- I suppose it's possible but has your doctor looked at other MORE COMMON CAUSES of hair loss such as thyroid issues, nutritional issues, and maybe even scalp health issues? Would be a rarity:
Never seen it in my patients BUT after doing a little research I discovered that according to eHealthme.com there are over 37,000 people reporting side effects to Lamictal and of those 3 reported heat intolerance.
