N. Fowleri brain eating amoeba from indoor dust? Earlier today i was playing on the carpet with my kids and was face down on carpet. Freaking out now.
Scared I had Scabies.Took lots Ivermectin.Derm gave Antihist/Prednisone for allergies.Still get random bumps/lines/crawly/slight itch. Masked Scabies?
Unlikely: What do you mean "for allergies"? I have seen many patients with your problem and usually have not been able to find a cause even after a skin biopsy. Prednisone should not be used for more than a couple of weeks. May try taking a non-sedating antihistamine every 6 hrs (higher than needed for hay fever) . If still not helpful, see your derm again or consult an allergist. ...Read more

Not the wood: rather could be the molds, keep taking your asthma medicines, the ongoing and the rescue ones as prescribed, better see or follow up with an allergist/Immunologist for evaluation, advice on environmental control and probably need for specific immunotherapy. Check aaaai.org or acaai.org for an allergist in your area, good luck ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I live in dutchess county, ny. My kids were sweeping out our shed today. Afterwards I saw mouse droppings on floor. I am worried about hantaviris?
Monitor the kids: I think this incident is relatively minor. In theory, hantavirus can be found in rodent excreta, but you are not in one of the 'high risk' areas such as the 4 corners region of the U.S. Since there are other diseases associated with mouse droppings, I would just keep an eye on the kids - if they develop any fevers, cough or respiratory symptoms in the next week see a doc ASAP. Prefer an ID doctor. ...Read more

I bought wilson one shot ant, roach and crawling insect killer, and sprayed house, should I leave house and air out the place to avoid toxicity?
Yes: According to the safety data sheet "avoid breathing vapours and mist." Undoubtedly there are vapors in the air for several hours after spaying so I would leave your house for many hours afterwards. Any chemical that kills insects will have at least some toxicity to humans. See http://tinyurl.com/zy2xd7q ...Read more
