What are the examples of non soy formula milk? For g6pd

What are the examples of non soy formula milk? For g6pd

Good question.: There are milk-based, soy-base, hydrolyzed and free amino acid type formulas. Breast milk watching your own diet is absolutely the best and safest for your baby. It is best for you to ask your pediatrician or hematology specialist which formulas are best, if breast feeding isn't possible. I would try a milk-based formula of a well-known name brand and check ingredients for soy lecithin, soya, soy. ...Read more

Can a 1 yr old drink fresh milk? A G6pd child. Thanks

Can a 1 yr old drink fresh milk? A G6pd child. Thanks

No: The natural sugar in (lactose)milk can trigger problems in a G6PD kid. Half of that sugar is galactose which a G6PD kid cannot metabolize and will lead to tissue injury and susceptibility to permanent damage. The kid needs to avoid any human and animal milk product for life. You need to read all food labels and make sure there is no accidental exposure from prepared /packaged foods. ...Read more

Can I give my infant baby s-26 milk, he had g6pd and rhis milk contain soya bean oil?

Can I give my infant baby s-26 milk, he had g6pd and rhis milk contain soya bean oil?

I do not recommend: G6pd exists in different forms with different severity. Mild forms of the condition might tolerate soya bean oil where severe forms of the disease probably would not tolerate it. Given alternative formulas that would not have potential for hemolysis, I would recommend not using s-26 for your infant. ...Read more

What is the best formula milk is prohibited for my 3mos old baby she is g6pd deficiency. Thanks?

What is the best formula milk is prohibited for my 3mos old baby she is g6pd deficiency. Thanks?

Tough answer: Fresh cow's milk is safe. Do call one of the formula company in your area like mead Johnson and ask for specialized formula. No formula I know of is completely safe. Having said that all options out there like goat's milk, almond milk have their deficiencies. Sorry for this complex answer. Fava bean avoidance, extension of that would be all legume avoidance is a must. So Soy would be a general NO. ...Read more

Hi! . my baby is now 5 months old and she is g6pd. What milk formula is safe for her? .... Is cerelac flavoured wheat, banana and milk are safe for her? ..

Ok to start solids: It is ok to start cereal by 4-6 months, but because wheat allergy is common, rice or oatmeal is usually recommended as a first cereal. The type with added fruit and milk is ok. Continue the same infant formula until your child is close to a year old. To give variety, add a different vegetable to the feedings once a week, unless there is a reaction, like rash or vomiting or diarrhea. ...Read more

My baby is months old. And she is positive og g6pd deficiency. Can I give her cow milk / fresh milk?

? age? Not listed: Your babies age was not listed. We encourage mothers to breast feed or use formula until a year of age before switching to cow milk. The cow milk by itself should never be a problem. You should avoid soy based foods or milk or anything related to peanuts. The big issue for these kids is the numerous drugs that can trigger blood breakdown. You should always inform any treating doc of the G6PD issue ...Read more

Is tiki tiki safe for g6pd?

Would not recommend: In trying to determine what is in "tiki-tiki", I have run across a number of g6pd forums asking a similar question and the consensus is not safe for g6pd. I do not know why you want to take tiki-tiki (or give tiki-tiki to your child), but I would say the risk/benefit ratio favors staying away from it if you have g6pd. A hemolytic crisis is not worth it. Find something else instead of tiki-tiki. ...Read more
