Burps smell like feces and vomit looks and smells like feces. Very few bowel movements, not for lack of trying. What would cause this?
Can lack of exercise and healthy diet cause difficult bowel movements even if stools are normal and not hardened? Normal stools but difficult passing?
Fiber & water.: By "lack of...healthy diet", we usually would refer to the lack of fiber-containing foods and enough daily water intake. Both of these are important for the easy passage of normal stools. Lack of such can lead to stools that are more solid than they should be and therefore more difficult to pass. Believe it or not, a "normal" stool is 75% water so adequate water intake is important for this. ...Read more

GI consult: It would seem you suffer from constipation. I'm always constipated, go 2-3 days without bowel movement. Blood, stool test NEG. I have enough fibre, but lack of exercise and water intake. Wht do?
Constipation: Constipation is passing hard stools, not necessarily if you don't go every day. If you have hard stools, increase your water intake (make sure you drink enough that when you pee it is clear, not yellow!) Try Miralax- a stool softening product. Do increase your exercise- it also gets your abdominal muscles moving! Try a probiotic (Acidophilous). If you continue with problems, see your doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
