Recurrent rectal artery bleeding episodes at multiple different sites around biopsy area. Could this be indication of bleeding disorder? What lab test?

Recurrent rectal artery bleeding episodes at multiple different sites around biopsy area. Could this be indication of bleeding disorder? What lab test?

Unlikely: Unlikely, especially if you have not had any issues with bleeding problems prior to this. The anorectal area is very vascular and some slight to moderate bleeding after surgery (hemorrhoidectomy, biopsy, fistula surgery) is not uncommon). Initial basic bleeding tests would be an pt/ptt and CBC with platelet count. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Is some slight fetal bleeding normal or is any amount a dangerous indicator?

Is some slight fetal bleeding normal or is any amount a dangerous indicator?

Depends: It is typically normal to have a little "streaking" but anything more should at least have you alert your OB and ask if you need to be seen for examination. ...Read more

Do these lab results mean I have a bleeding issue/thin blood? Mpv 9.0 fl l, bun 7mg/dl l, bun/creat ratio 8 l, alb/glob 0.9 l. L=low. Can u translate?

Do these lab results mean I have a bleeding issue/thin blood? Mpv 9.0 fl l, bun 7mg/dl l, bun/creat ratio 8 l, alb/glob 0.9 l. L=low. Can u translate?

Inconclusive: For the most part, the tests that you list are important in the context of what other numbers are. Mpv is a measure of the plumpness of your platelets, and platelets are important for blood clotting. But, the actual number of platelets (should be >150) is usually more important for bleeding issues. If that number is fine, then this slightly low mpv level could just represent a mild viral infection. ...Read more

I have been having light brown discharge with a light bleeding when i wipe. Pregnancy test said negative. What could it be?

I have been having light brown discharge with a light bleeding when i wipe. Pregnancy test said negative. What could it be?

Probably period: The brown discharge was likely a light period. Brown = old blood. Repeat a home pregnancy test to make sure you are not pregnant. An "off" period from time to time is very common and usually corrects itself in the next few cycles. If it continues schedule a visit for testing. ...Read more

Took ECP on 6th, got light bleeding on13aug. 2 HPT & 1 Lab Urine test on 14 sept, all negative. No sex after withdrawal bleed. still be pregnant?

Unlikely: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, vaginal spotting, or medications. A test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a negative result may be due to testing too early such as less than 2 weeks after conception. ...Read more

Doc terminated my preg. bec fetus had cystic hygroma, aborted fetus's cytogenetic lab test result: apparently normal female karyotype, plz explain??

Fetus was a girl: "Normal female karyotype" just means the fetus was genetically a girl. It means there were 2 of each chromosome (contrast that with Down syndrome, where a fetus would have 3 of chromosome #21). So, "normal female karyotype" doesn't have a particular special meaning, but only that she was genetically a girl. ...Read more

No period for a month after withdrawal bleed. 2 HPT & 1 Lab Urine test negative. No sex after withdrawal bleed. Could i still be pregnant?

No: Home pregnancy tests are very sensitive. A month after your withdrawal bleed, with no exposure to semen, it would be extremely unlikely you are pregnant. To say nothing of your stated sex as male. ...Read more
