Hopefully: After healing, the bone should get back to normal strength. Recovery from a spine fracture and back surgery depends on the degree of injury, your own healing process, determination in rehabilitation, luck, and what type of work and activity you are trying to get back to!! Not likely: Assuming you had L3 and L4 transverse process fractures after an accident.Numbness in a leg a year later is more likely related to other factors( pressure or swelling on a peripheral nerve for example ) although it is possible to have had a disc injury that us just now making its presence felt. It takes some trauma: 2 fracture verse processes, gut they R well vascularized by surrounding muscle, so heal fairly rapidly. The pain is always aggravated with movement but despite this they will heal. The pain gradually subsides, but when it's finally gone U will have a hard time pinpointing when it happened since it so slowly in going. ...Read more
