Do different things: It's hard to say one is better than the other as they do different things. L-carnitine is necessary for fatty acids to cross the mitochondrial membrane & is esp. Good for the heart. Acetyl-l-carnitine crosses into the brain & is neuro-protective. N-acetyl carnitine may be better absorbed than l-carnitine.
