Painful cracked & dry knuckles, red, burning on one hand only. Happens every fall & winter but only on right hand. What would cause this?

Eczema will get you: at a very young age, and it continues throughout your life. Sometimes a certain lotion or chemical in the lotion will make it worse. Try to use different unscented moisturizers, even prescription ones, to see if it would help alleviate the problem . I would put the moisturizer on several times a day. More info?: This could be gout, though there would usually be redness. Rheumatoid arthritis comes to mind but usually no sudden onset and generally more joints that one small finger joint. It would be good to know if there's been any recent trauma, spider bite, stick with a thorn? Does finger ever get stuck when bent? ...Read more
