I had shoulder surgery last may an had shots in my neck. But I've had a knot in my trap for sooo long an I've done massage, pt, chiro. Y won't it go away?
Trapezius strain?: I am unclear as to why you had injections in your neck. Are you referring to an epidural injection for a cervical spine condition? The painful muscle spasm in the trapezius can be due to referred pain from the neck or myofascial pain or related to shoulder surgery. If pain is deemed muscular you may benefit from a trigger point injection. Best to f/u with your doctor for further recommendation. ...Read more

I had surgery on my left foot 7 years ago. I wait tables for a living. My left foot recently developed a small knot for no reason. It doesn't hurt.
Most people have foot surgery secondary to issues with the bones or muscles/ligaments.
In the process, often times, a bit of bone may be removed or redirected. Over time, the resected bone, or the redirected bone can develop bone growth.
Also, you may have a fluid build up from the joints causing a small knot. ...Read more

Have a complete tear of left flexor hallucis longus tendon. Tear is in front of knot of henry. Is surgery best or is something less invasive possible?
Experience counts.: It goes without saying that every patient's condition should be evaluated before applying general rules, but, if the laceration is distal (toward the toes) to the knot of Henry, then surgical repair is probably best. Find an experienced surgeon. ...Read more
I've had shoulder surgery 3 times, & I still get horrible muscle spams & knots, even in my neck. Could I have a herniated discs in my neck?
Possible: It's definitely a possibility. There is a lot of overlap between shoulder and neck problems. The pain may be related to muscle spasms from improper mechanics/stiffness of your shoulder; however after 3 surgeries and persistent pain it may be time to have your neck examined and get a second opinion. ...Read more

When a suture knot is visible below the skin several months after abdominal surgery are there any non surgical methods to make it less visible?
ASK or SEE Surgeon:
Suture material can be absorbable or not absorbable. Absorbable suture is usually 'taken up by the body' in the matter of weeks to months. You may just have to wait a little longer.
Of course non -absorbable suture will always be there (holding things together), sorry. ...Read more

I tore my ACL and miniscis in July 2015. I had surgery at the end of July to repair them Then in August I had surgery to remove scar tissue The scar tissue has come back forming a knot which is painful and limits my mobility what should I do?
The "scarring" you mention. In the joint?? (Arthrofibrosis) or around the joint???? ("keloid")
In any case if there is a "knot" possibly a steroid injection will help...or surgical excision is needed!
Your Orthopedist is the person you should be in contact with!
Hope this helps!

Had my surgery and removed stone have a stent and string out of penis its tied in knot to short what happens is I get a erection? Please help me
Ask urologist or. ..: Leaving a thread attached to stent for self pulling-out is common; yet the length of thread is arbitrarily decided by urologist and occasionally it may be too short so restricting the "room" leading to discomfort for erection. If so, you may release the taping of the thread and let it go inside urethra for comfort. After erection and peeing, you will most likely see the thread reappear of pulling. ...Read more
My mom just had surgery to repair an aneurysm in her left growing. She has been home for 2 days and a knot has formed under the staples. No fever?
Had surgery&removed stone have a stent&string out of penis is tied in knot to short what happens if I get a erection? Surgery ystrdy string out monday
See below: Generally, an erection will have no adverse effect on either the penis or the indwelling stent as there is enough redundant string within the bladder and penis to prevent the stent from inadvertently being pulled down/out or discomfort in the penis from the string being pulled too taut. Also, less likely to get an erection because of the discomfort often associated with having a stent in place. ...Read more

Had foot surgery, using knee scooter, hit unseen hole, fell hit my knee hard. Knee has a knot on top of cap, cap moves a bit, is catching on somethin?
Call ur foot doctor: Your doctor needs to know that you had knee trauma on top of the foot surgery, so they can advise you what to do. The cap is the patella, and it's good that it moves a bit. The knot is from the impact on it form your knee hitting the pavement (hole). If it feels like it's catching on something, it's most likely from the swelling of the cap, that needs to be evaluated by your doctor, and documented. ...Read more

Go see ur Family Doc: That small swelling on side of your neck could be caused by infection, swollen gland, cancer, scar, reaction to suture material, etc. Bottom line, rather than speculate, go see your Family Doc for examination. Also work w/your doc to optimize stroke risk factors, eg atrial fibrillation, blood pressure, cholesterol, sugar etc, to prevent 2nd one. And learn FAST acronym: http://goo. Gl/2Q7GKE ...Read more
Knot on knee cap from ruptured quad surgery 10 years ago, now feels like bony over growth causing some pain especially when touched. Is this normal??
Possibly: Depending on the treatment/surgery that was done, there may be scarring and or bony overgrowth at the site of repair, which can become inflammed and/or tender at times. Conservative care with NSAIDs, ice/heat, or topical analgesics may help. See a physician if the symptoms are persistent or worsening. ...Read more
I have a question I have these lumps on my neck from my previous surgery my doctor thinks there muscle knots can they be seen on a MRI?
Yes: MRI has great resolution for muscle, but it'd be a VERY expensive test to just diagnose some muscle knots. There may be more serious things that an MRI can pick up, i.e. enlarged lymph nodes in your neck, but this would be unlikely unless you were also having fevers, fatigue, night sweats, or some sign of infection. Try warm compresses and a massage to see if they'll go away. ...Read more
