Superficial: I sounds like a superficial vein with pain, called thrombophlebitis which is an inflammation of the vein. Other possibilities include an infected cyst or hair follicle, or insect bite. It is hard to say without seeing the lesion. Best course of action. Apply a warm compress for about 5 minutes, multiple times and take an anti inflammatory for pain. You should see a: Doctor there are many reasons feet can swell including but not limited to high blood pressure, incompetent veins, lymphedema, kidney dysfunction, side effect of medication etc...itching and or burning is not uncommon when someone has swelling of extremities.
