My knees popping after acl and meniscus surgery. It doesn't hurt but sometimes I loose balance. Did I have a re tear?

Need knee evaluation

Extremity-joint-knee
There are a number of possible causes of knee "popping" and a feeling of loosing balance. Your doctor should evaluate your knee to determine the exact cause. If you didn't have an injury to the knee, you probably didn't re-tear the ACL.

I would wait at least a week before traveling on a plane. Recommend some type of blood thinner either prescription or ar least aspirin to prevent blood clots. also do not sit down for the whole flight.

Dr. Geoffrey Higgs answered:

How long will my doctor prescribe narcotics after acl reconstruction knee surgery?

Variable

Heroin_addiction
How long pain medications are prescribed after ACL reconstruction is variable. I have some patients that take medications only a few days. I have others that need medications as long as a few weeks. Respecting the need for rest, ice, compression and elevation for the first few days after the surgery helps reduce your need for pain medications. Antiinflammatory medications are a helpful adjunct

Dr. Allen P. Lu answered:

What is the typical time for knee swelling to go away after meniscus arthoscopic and acl reconstruction surgery?

1-4 weeks

Knee_arthroscopy
It sometimes depends on the type of reconstruction as well as bleeding within the joint. Because of this, it is difficult to predict the amount and duration. Most of these resolve as the body seals and starts to heal. The body also starts to absorb everything over the first month.

How do I know I need to see a doctor about ACL reconstruction? One of my knees is loose and sometimes feels like it is going to pop out if I come down on it wrong. I’ve managed it, but it feels like it is getting weaker. Should I see a doctor about ACL re

Yes.

Yes. If after an examination and probable MRI you are indeed diagnosed with an ACL tear, surgery is an option. This will depend on your age, desired activity level, expectations, and other issues. Nonsurgical options exist as well, and this will/should be discussed by your doctor.
