Many things: If you have no pain walking, unless you walk very slowly, poor circulation seems unlikely. Most of my patients experience more pain when they go to bed, what ever the condition happens to be. I think that is because we are distracted during the day and we aggravate many conditions with daily activities, so it hurts more when we go to bed. Sciatica: True sciatica is leg pain that shoots from back, down the leg past the knee. This mimics the path of the sciatic nerve, thus it's name. Mri of the spine or pelvis would serve to identify in most cases if exam and history is not clear. Herniated disc at higher level like l2-3 or l3-4, could cause pain to knee. Lower disc problems calf and foot. Nonsurgical for most disc problems. Nsaid's, pt, shots. Read more

Bad knee pain. (worse at night in bed) come on last 2 months. Old fib/tib compound on other leg 25 yrs ago- inc 4 inch shorter. No swelling at moment.

Evaluate arthritis: There are a few possibilities however it is likely that the unoperated leg was compensating. This increased load of work may have led to you developing early arthritis or hamstring tightness. This spasm due to the leg length discrepancy may be causing the night pain. You should have an evaluation with Ortho, get a heel lift and start physical therapy. Keep me posted. Read more

Likely tendonitis: Pain that is worse at rest and at night may be tendonitis. The hamstring tendons attach behind the knee and if inflamed may be the cause of your pain. Stretching and anti-inflammatories are a good place to start. Read more

LOGIC: 'before this, therefore the cause of it' is poor logic. The world is too complicated. A penis is not usually connected to a knee - but knees can swell for lots of reasons. Assuming a normal penis, see a dr about the knee. Read more

35 yrs old 4 children and have bad knee pain with nerve pain running down both legs especially when sitting down or in bed more pain when I go gym?

Good Examination: Not sure if your pregnancy history has a role in your current pain? There are some pregnancy related back problems. You have symptoms of discogenic pain and sciatica. At this point I would recommend a good history and examination to better diagnosis your problem. Therapy would be a good first step. However, not all therapy is the same; it is very dependent on the diagnosis and examination. Read more

SEVERAL CAUSES: 'bad knee pain' could be due to new or old trauma (causing degenerative arthritis/cartilage loss, degenerating ligaments...). Also an acute gout attack can cause 'bad knee pain' and a blood test can check this possibility.
