I started walking daily and now my knees hurt very badly, haven't walked in 4 days to relieve knee pain and they hurt just as bad or worse. Why would my knees be hurting like this just from starting a daily walk?
Varies: There are a variety of reasons for a person to have knee pain with walking and an exam and appropriate studies can usually determine the cause, so I would not hesitate to be seen. Arthritis and internal derangement of the knee would be uncommon in a 37 year old without injury. Be seen: It would probably be wise to be seen for an accurate diagnosis as there are multiple possibilities. What would cause progressively worse knee pain that stems from behind the knee? It is painful to bend and to walk?
Several causes of pain behind the knee. I assume no recent trauma--you may have a baker's cyst--basically a collection of joint fluid extruded outside of the joint and formed sack there behind the knee...As it enlarges, it can cause pain and reduces ability to bend the knee.
A bit clot in the back can do so as well, but you don't have other symptoms to suggest that.
Consult your doc.
