One possibility: Your complaints could indicate several problems, the first abnormality that comes to mind is avascular (aseptic) necrosis of the bone within the knee joint, either distal (lower) femur or proximal (upper) tibia. Depending on degree of pain with activity or rest, an inflammatory disorder (such as gout) or even infection are possible. I'd have any pain evaluated by a doctor that occurs at rest. ...Read more

Rest and PT: Your muscles are sore most likely from overuse They would benefit tremendously from balanced rest and physical therapy for conditioning. Lots of young athletes can benefit from balancing the muscles activated during exercise with those that are inhibited or weaker. PT with Core strengthening can help improve your technique.
