Having pain in the front/ side of my left knee. When I lift my leg it feels like my knee joint is separated. I have to lift left leg with right leg?

Have you had any in-: Jury to it, as from the sound of it, you might have a disrupted extensor tendon complex of the knee (either quads muscle/tendon or the patellar tendon or a fracture of the patella), whereby the leg feels "separated" as you described it.
See an orthopod, for confirmation of the DX and treatment.
Either surgery or cast treatment maybe needed.
Good luck. ...Read more

Had fluid drained 7 weeks after patella femoral replacement now my patella has extreme pain when I lift my knee in a bent position. Is my tendon torn?

Had fluid drained 7 weeks after patella femoral replacement now my patella has extreme pain when I lift my knee in a bent position. Is my tendon torn?

Lifting Ur knee-: -while bent does no use your quads & therefore does not test the quad tendon or the patellar. Inability 2 straighten your knee at all would mean a deficiency. Just initiating knee extension you can easily feel the patellar tendon. Same with the quad tendon. Don't do more than your surgeon allows, but just the initiation of ext should be okay. ...Read more

One leg from knee down swells each day after riding fork lift all day. Has done this for 2 years. Very fit and active. Should I wear a legcompression?

Not a bad idea..: Not sure why you would have leg swelling, but seemingly not painful. Prior injury can damage the vessels/lymphatics and thus cause swelling with prolonged upright position. Did you have any trauma to the leg? Are you on any medication? Norvasc/cardizem/verapamil/lyrica etc. Are common meds causing leg swelling. Compression stockings can help. Consult doc. What do you suggest if I'm laying down and I lift up my neck and as I do that I feel a sharp pain on my knee?

What do you suggest if I'm laying down and I lift up my neck and as I do that I feel a sharp pain on my knee?

Pinched Nerve: Sounds like a pinched nerve in your neck. Typically that is most times what causes pain all the way down or up your arm. Alternatively, it could be a pinched nerve in arm as well like in the brachial plexus and/or nerve entrapment elsewhere. If your knee hurts it suggests the pinching in your neck is more severe than usual. I would suggest seeing a spine specialist to evaluate this further. ...Read more
