Not likely: If it just hurts when you bend it, a trip to the er is probably not necessary. If you dislocated it or had large amounts of redness and swelling and a fever, then yes. If it just hurts when you bend it or walk on it, I would recommend just waiting and seeing you primary care doc or going to urgent care doc tomorrow (both will be much cheaper and just as effective for this issue).I hope this helps! ...Read more
Many causes: You could have a meniscal tear, a cartilage defect or fluid in the knee that makes the knee hurt. In older people, osteoarthritis is a cause.
