I fell hitting concrete floor hard when I did the vein in my knee puffed up, my knee felt numb. There is burning pain, bruise&swelling. What is it?
Neuroma: If this is recent, then the burning can just be from the bruising. But if it has been a while, there is a small skin nerve around the knee that can get injured with surgery or hard falls such as this. That would cause the burning sensation. I would get it evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon. ...Read more

Black & Blue mark appeared on skin on top of where stone staple from previous ACL surgery was. I don't recall hitting knee. Just coincidence?
Black and blue/ACL: Likely nothing to worry about - not sure what you mean by stone staple - staples are metal and removed when area is healed - as long as the area is not warm and red and tender its likely you suffered a bruise - from a minimal injury and this is what you are seeing. Abrasion of knee: This type of injury can lead to deeper infection and swelling of the patellar bursa (fluid sack around the knee cap). I fell down on concrete sidewalk and landed on my left knee. It was swollen and brused. Is there any concern about it, withme being on warfrin?
Bleeding risk: Coumadin (warfarin) certainly increases your risk of bleeding. This is something that would be noted after a few days for sure. Keep an eye on the knee and if the swelling is not improving and gets worse, you will need to see a dr. Get your inr done, and may need to "hold" the coumadin, (warfarin) or even get the knee joint aspirated. If it simply swelled and appears to be doing well, monitor the area. Best of luck. ...Read more

Can you walk on it?: If you can not walk on that leg (putting full weight on it with each step), or if you can't bend the knee to 90 degrees, or if the knee cap is tender when you touch it, you probably need an xray. Otherwise you can probably wait a few days. Either way, rice would be helpful. ...Read more
