My inner ankle bone is red swollen is it gout ?

My inner ankle bone is red swollen is it gout ?

Can!: It is not uncommon for the ankle to be involved. Certainly less common than the mtp, and more common than the knee. Upper extremeity joints are all less common than the lower extremity, because of their dependency. Fluid from your vascualr system seeps out more in the lower extremity. At night, water moves back into your blood stream than uric acid, which crystalizes and gout attack occurs. ...Read more

Inner side of my left knee hurt. Is that a ligament or is pateller tendinitis?

Inner side of my left knee hurt. Is that a ligament or is pateller tendinitis?

Depends: There are several structures on the inside or medial aspect of the knee. The mcl ligament, medial meniscus and then you also have several tendons that attach just below the inside of the knee. The patella tendon is located at the knee cap so that shouldn't cause pain on the inside of the knee. ...Read more

Have Medial Meniscus tear w/ cyst wearing hinged knee brace but calf is very painful What should I do?

How helpful is brace: If the brace is the source of the calf pain, but helps the knee, then an adjustment to the brace (size, fit, etc.) could be considered. Alternatively, a new brace could be utilized. Personally, I don't routinely use braces for meniscal tears unless there is a ligament tear as well or associated arthritis with a misaligned knee. Seek additional help if the brace is not the cause of the calf pain. ...Read more

Is my knee pain due to MCL or meniscus?

Is my knee pain due to MCL or meniscus?

Need more info: Hi, knee pain can come from multiple sources including the 2 ligaments that you mentioned. Physical exam tests can sometimes distinguish the source of pain. Mri is a great exam that can differentiate between injury to the meniscus versus injury to the mcl. But, just seeing the injury on the MRI does not mean that the abnormality is the pain generator. The exam and the MRI complement each other. ...Read more
