Knee and hip pain while walking on flat surfaces. Mri showed tendon swelling behind knee cap. I am also flat footed.?

Tendinitis: Patellar tendinitis may occur independently due to over activity, and it may also be aggravated by flat feet. If you are knocked kneed, having and arch support that is carefully measured may help reduce your patellar tendon symptoms. As an alternative or in conjunction a patellar strap (cho-pat) brace that is a larger version of a tennis elbow brace may help while correcting the arch issue. ...Read more

See doctor: Hard to say without examining. Can be left with a chronic pain syndrome where the damage had recovered but the nerves remain active. And that might be why nothing is found. If this is the case your gp can refer you to a pain clinic. Best to see a doctor and get examined and go from there ...Read more

My knee is slightly swelling around knee cap (no redness some pain while walking)for 7 days. If this is fluid, when should this subside on its own? Dr?

10 days: In general, any orthopedic injury (muscles, bones, joints) that doesn't feel a lot better (50% better) in 10 days, should be checked by a physician. Infection can start as swelling so increasing red and pain should be seen asap! ...Read more

Hip pain. Leg/hip not holding weight after sitting. Arthrogram MRI yest. Can hardly walk. Wont hold my weight?

Get ultrasound eval: Swelling in one foot after trauma could be a result of inflammation, which will pass with elevation, but could, also represent a blood clot below the knee, which could be dangerous. A painless ultrasound evaluation will determine if this is the diagnosis. Treatment can then be started to correct the problem. ...Read more

Hip 2 foot leg pain, sometimes foot turns ice cold. Broke knee cap years ago, not diabetic, not over weight. Cause for concern?

Hip 2 foot leg pain, sometimes foot turns ice cold. Broke knee cap years ago, not diabetic, not over weight. Cause for concern?

Go see a doctor: Pain that radiates from hip 2 toes is usually caused by a pathology above the hip. Your patella (knee cap) fracture, most likely, has nothing to do with this pain. Your back is a likely candidate, but your history of heart disease and the fact that your foot turns cold, makes me think of a vascular (arterial) cause for your pain. I would definitely recommend you see a doctor to begin a workup. ...Read more

My husband had knee surgery 5 days ago. He has fluid under his knee cap. Tonight, the other leg/ankle is swelling badly. Should he be seen at ER?

Maybe: No info about husband's age, medical problems, type of surgery, etc. The fluid under knee cap is probably not of concern UNLESS the skin over it has become red, hot, swollen, and very tender, or if fever.

The OTHER leg being swollen is more concerning. If he has any calf or leg tenderness on that side, please go to ER right away to make sure no blood clot. Good luck! ...Read more

Pain on left side hip from front and back of leg travels to foot hard to walk very painful if sciatica is it bound to get hip pain and on both legs?

Patella dislocation meniscus extruded past tibia. Swelling- large effusion mrii. Knee gave out while walking. Need for surgery? Pops clicks

Depends: Your need for surgery will depend on the stability and/or damage under your knee cap. If this is your first patella dislocation vs the latest ofmor, that could change things as well. Had slight pain in knee and above for a few days, Some days better then other. Muscle twitches, hip pain. Sound like a clot? Herniated disc? No swelling.

Inflamed knee: It sounds like you have some sort of inflammation in your knee. This can cause hip pain if you are favoring that knee when you walk. With a blood clot you would have a swollen ankle and lower leg. With a herniated disc you would probably have back pain and the pain in your leg would not just be in joints. Try ace wrap and ice on knee and see doctor if it is not resolving. ...Read more

I am experiencing neck pain, low back pain, hip pain, difficulty walking, knee pain, knee swelling. I had a baby 6 months ago and the pain started?

Need a thorough exam: With this many joints and symptoms involved, an in-person exam is the only way to go. In the absence of trauma, an auto-immune process has to be aconsideration. A history, exam, x-rays and laboratory work-up will likely be a part of the process. ...Read more
