Is riding a stationary bike with knee tendonitis in both knees good for rehab?

Is riding a stationary bike with knee tendonitis in both knees good for rehab?

Jumpers knee in both knees is getting bad- RICE and the knee strap isnt working. Is a wheelchair necessary? I dance 5 days a week

Walking & stretching: Do not use a wheelchair if at all possible. Walking should minimize stress on patellar tendons. Stretching the qudriceps & patellar tendons will help with the addition of NSAID (Aleve, etc.). A compression sleeve may help too. Rarely, after obtaining an MRI to visualize the damaged tendon on the deep side just off the kneecap-- surgical debridement (arthroscopic) may be indicated. Ortho eval now ...Read more

Is walking good for someone with a torn tendon in knee?

Yes, but...: In general, a low impact activity that does not aggravate your symptoms is good for you. This does depend on which tendon is torn and if you have an unstable knee. Why would pt use 2lb ankle weight for strengthening leg of a senior recovering from fracture? Hurts knee?
