Not great combo: Concomitant administration of clonazepam (Klonopin) and carbamazepine (Tegretol) resulted in a 22% increase in clonazepam clearance and a 20.5% decrease in carbamazepine clearance. Yes,,and no: Both drugs have interactions with cardizem. Lightheadedness and dizziness for example. Both can result in hypotension. The number of interactions are greater with klonopin, (clonazepam) but that is probably because Klonopin (clonazepam) stays in your bloodstream much longer than ativan. Be careful: They are both sedatives so if you took sufficiently high doses at bedtime you may cause yourself to stop breathing although in clinical practice that would be rare. As long as you are not taking more than five milligrams of Clonazepam a day then any amount of Hydroxyzine up to about 100 mg a day would likely be tolerated.
