Klonopin (clonazepam) belongs to a class of medications called benzodiazepines. They are also referred to as sedative-hypnotics & anxiolytics. These medications are used for a variety of indications to include anxiety, insomnia, muscle spasm, seizure, & alcohol withdrawal. All benzodiazepines including Clonazepam are potentially habit forming. Alcohol should be ...Read more

Currently on Luvox (fluvoxamine) and Clonazepam and took a + pregnancy test today. Should I continue?
Big risks: Clonazepam has been assigned to pregnancy category D by the FDA. An increased risk of congenital malformations in humans has been associated with use of all known anticonvulsant agents in the treatment of women with epilepsy. However, epilepsy itself may be associated with an increased risk of congenital malformations. Additionally, use of other benzodiazepines is associated with an increased risk in congenital malformation ...Read more
Are low doses of Xanax (alprazolam) and clonidine safe to take during short-acting opioid withdrawal? I plan on taking 1mg of Xanax (alprazolam) and 0.2mg of clonidine daily.
Hi, I am taking celexa 20 mg for depression and anxiety and klonopin (clonazepam) for anxiety and panic. Could I replace the klonopin (clonazepam) with amitriptyline safely?
Not enough info: Switching medications requires knowledge of your entire clinical situation. You need to discuss with prescribing doctor reason for changing any med and how to do so. Also you must be seen and carefully monitored for symptoms and side effects. I hope this helps. ...Read more
Taking clonazepam 0.5mg for approx 3 weeks, and now also on Lexapro (escitalopram) in evening. How to wean off clonazepam to avoid insomnia and anxiety symptoms?
No: The typical drug screen would be negative under these drugs. If you are asking about any typical benzodiapines or narcotics the answer is no. If one does a specific drug test for these meds it would show up. Not a major concern as long as your doctor knows about them. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Can you take phenegran dm and Xanax (alprazolam) and hydrocodone, and then Ambien at bed with welbutrin and if not then out of those which are safe together?
These drugs: Individually have profound sedative (depressant) side effects. Ingesting them together would seem inappropriate under almost any circumstance that comes to mind. Clearly at least one of your physician providers should be consulted for direct advice. Thanks for your question! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Been taking. 25 of klonopin (clonazepam) m&n and 5mg celexa. Is it safe to stop the am klonopoin and the celexa and just take the pm dose of klonopin (clonazepam)?
Overall thought safe: Cynthia, Those are low doses of klonopin (clonazepam) and celexa. I would always recommend conferring with your treating provider before making such changes, but on a general level, I do not think that you would experience difficult stopping celexa from the 5mg dose. I would not have a safety concern for stopping the 0.25mg morning dose of klonopin (clonazepam). Long 1/2 life should make this easier to adjust to. ...Read more
Stop now, Jamal: If you have any respect for yourself or others, or if you love anyone or they love you, then stop using meth now. It is incredibly subtle in its power to enslave and destroy. The people who I have autopsied after dying of meth have ripped off their own flesh. Please, buddy. Just stop. ...Read more
I am 8 weeks pregnant and on a very low dose of klonopin (clonazepam) what are the risks involved in taking this drug during pregnancy?
Can you take xanex with klonopin (clonazepam), (clonazepam) not at same time but same day? Do klonopin (clonazepam) and xanex show up the same in a urine test? Tyvm
Why?: I am not sure why you would need to take two different benzodiazapines at the same time. Both have potential to build tolerance. I would not prescribe both at the same time to a patient, however different providers select different options. Please discuss this fully with your prescribing provider. Take care. ...Read more
I'm 25 weeks pregnant and my OB prescribed Vistaril for anxiety and insomnia. Is this widely considered safe during pregnancy?
Best discuss concern: with your OB who must weigh benefits and risks for you and your baby of any medication prescribed during pregnancy. Antihistamines are contraindicated in the first trimester and risk beyond that is uncertain. If necessary Vistaril is considered a good choice and it is recommended to drink ample water to overcome possible side effects. Alert OB to increased movement. Best regards for good health. ...Read more

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
