Is there a good med for anxiety that is not a narcotic? Was taking klonpin for 8 months, but knopin stopped working.
No: But you can not stop the medication abruptly, this can cause seizures, delirium and sometimes death. Decrease your dose slowly over time. Something like decreasing your total daily dose by 0.5mg every 3 days would be a place to start. If you can't do this on your own, then it's time to consider residential treatment. ...Read more
I've taken at least 70mgs of klonopin (clonazepam) the past two days how long until I can pass a drug test?
REALLY?!?: I am sorry but are you absolutely sure that you have this dose correct? Because it is virtually impossible that you are still with us! The highest sinfle dose of Klonopin (clonazepam) is 2mg. This means that you have taken 35 pills of the highest dose. Perhaps you mean 7 mg. Half life is very long for klonopin (clonazepam). So we are talking quite a while before this much is gone. Please clarify and more importantly get. ...Read more
I was prescribed klonopin (clonazepam). 0.5MG daily for anxiety. Can this drug be taken in a as needed basis and discontinued suddenly?
Take as prescribed: Drugs should be taken exactly as prescribed by your physician. Generally, Klonopin (clonazepam) is prescribed as a daily medication rather than taken on an as needed basis since it does not start working immediately (can take up to 30 minutes or longer). Any discontinuation of a medication, especially one taken daily, should be discussed with the prescribing physician first. Better options exist for prn use ...Read more
Is klonopin (clonazepam) a dangerous drug? I take it almost every night because it helps me sleep. I have been reading online that it can really mess people up.
Klonopin (clonazepam): Klonopin (clonazepam) is a sedating medication, a benzodiazepine, that can also be habit forming. It is sometimes used for sleep, but should not be used for extended periods because it can induce tolerance (requiring more drug for same effect). I strongly suggest working with your doctor to get to the bottom of your sleep issues, rather than covering them up. A psychiatrist or psychologist may help. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Slowly w med superv.: Obviously your medication treatment and withdrawal should be under close psychiatric supervision. When Klonopin is being tapered it usually needs to be done very slowly. It is also possible that your doctor may want to consider putting you in an SSRI which can be very helpful for anxiety as well as depression Psychotherapy will also most likely be very helpful. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Could alternating tramadol and klonopin (clonazepam) at night for plmd (not rls) be an effective solution to tolerance for both drugs?
Is lorazepam most similar to xanax (alprazolam)? I know duration is longer but is it the closest one in this class of drugs? Klonopin doesn't work
Xanax (alprazolam): Lorazepam is similar to Xanax (alprazolam) in that it has a short half life which means it seems to work faster but doesn't last as long, This makes these more addictive. Klonopin and Tranxene have a longer half life which takes longer to work but lasts much longer and is still addictive but less so. ...Read more
I have been on klonopin (clonazepam) 2mg once a day for a year how long will it take to go clear for a drug screen for work stopped taking two days ago?
Varies widely: The range for 1/2-life (i.e., 1mg still there) is 18-50 hrs! People metabolize differently. So, it could be over 4 full days! But if you have a legit Rx - it should be honored. Try not to worry if you are being a responsible adult. If you're not..... Well, by 35 perhaps you need to start moving in that direction. Best! ...Read more
I took 6 klonopin (clonazepam) around 12mg yesterday at 8pm, I was wondering how long it stays in the urine for a drug test. I weigh 143 and 5-11ft, I workout to?
Why: Not a bright idea to take 12 mg of Clonazepam (klonipin)...Seek a counselor, psychologist, psychiatrist, addiction specialist for help. It can take 3 days to clear but detection in urine also depends if its a qualitative versus a quantitative test and the sensitivity of the test. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Why would my prescribed daily dose of klonopin (clonazepam) never show up positive on any of my employment drug screens for benzos?
Good luck?: Drug screens are accurate, but there is a false positive and negative rate for all tests. Maybe you're on a low dose and it is not sensitive enough to register. May be interference with another drug you are taking? ...Read more
Having a hard time getting off Paxil (paroxetine) 10 mg. Is there another drug I can transition to without weight gain? Harder withdrawl than klonopin. Suggestions
A couple suggestions: Are you actually looking to transition to another drug or are you trying to come off all together? You could try transitioning to citalopram which doesn't tend to be as difficult to stop as Paxil (paroxetine) but is related enough that you should still have some relief of your mental symptoms. Another one to consider transitioning to would be sertraline. Weight gain isn't that big an issue with either of those ...Read more
