I think I may have klinefelter syndrome. What should I do?

See your PCP: Your pcp can order the specific genetic blood test that can confirm or exclude the issue. If you are not and are concerned about specific issues, your pcp will know what local sources are available to sort them out.

Is it possible klinefelter syndrome through genes?

Is it possible klinefelter syndrome through genes?

Yes: Klinefelter syndrome is the presence of an extra x chromosome in a male (xxy instead of xy).

What genotype is responsible for klinefelter syndrome?

XXY: IT IS THE EXTRA X chromosome in cells that lead the clinical characteristics of KS

Can you tell me about klinefelter syndrome?

Extra chromosome: Klinefelter syndrome occurs when a male is born with an extra sex chromosome. Their pattern is XXY instead of the normal xy. The defect results in decline in testosterone production with age and a loss of fertility in adulthood.

Does anyone know about klinefelter syndrome?

Klinefelter: Klinefelter syndrome is a chromosomal abnormality in which a male has an extra x-chromosome in his cells. This usually leads to tall stature, wide hips, gynecomastiathis ie breast tissue, low testosterone, small penis size, small testicles, some learning issues. There is a klinefelter syndrome society website full of info. Kss. Org check it out.

Is there any change if a male that has klinefelter syndrome have kids?

Is there any change if a male that has klinefelter syndrome have kids?

Klinefelters: Most of the time these men have difficulty having children to do low sperm counts. Some klinefelter men are mosaics meaning only a percentage of their cells are abnormal with an extra x chromosome. These men may have an easier time. One should consult a geneticist before considering children as they are at high risk of having babies with sex-chromosome abnormalities.

Help please? What is the height range that people with klinefelter syndrome get?

Tall: Variable but generally tall meaning about 6 foot but this will depend on the degree of pubertal development and need for testosterone replacement.

Treating klinefelter syndrome at age 19. What is the best treatment?

Treating klinefelter syndrome at age 19. What is the best treatment?

See below: The syndrome is genetic and the only major treatment is testosterone replacement for hypogonadism. Otherwise, there is not a lot of other treatments. See the american association for klinefelter syndrome information and support - www. Aaksis. Org.

If a man has big hips mean that he has klinefelter syndrome (xxy)?

If a man has big hips mean that he has klinefelter syndrome (xxy)?

No: Body build depends on a great many factors. If XXY tends to produce taller stature and wider hips, that proves nothing about any individual. I don't think anyone will ask Mr. Jackman (photo) whether he has Klinefelter's.

What type of genetic disorder is klinefelter syndrome classified as?

What type of genetic disorder is klinefelter syndrome classified as?

Chromosomal disorder: Klinefelter syndrome is also known as XXY condition. Men with this condtion have an extra x chromosome in most of their cells. Not all men with the condition have all of the symptoms described by klinefelter and many are not even aware that they have the condition. 1 in 500 men are xxy. During puberty, most males with the condition are taller with less muscular bodies and less facial hair.

What to do if I am 19 years of age male I have little gynecomastia does that mean I have klinefelter syndrome?

No: You're probably normal, especially if you get strong erections and ejaculations like other men your age. If the gynecomastia bothers you, a morning at the surgeon's office will fix things. Best wishes.

I am in 15 my testicles size is 5Cmx2.5Cmx2.5Cm as length X width X height. Is that size denies that I have klinefelter syndrome?

I am in 15 my testicles size is 5Cmx2.5Cmx2.5Cm as length X width X height. Is that size denies that I have klinefelter syndrome?

Why do you ask?: Klinefelter is a spectrum, but that's actually a pretty big pair -- you're bigger than most of your male buddies. I have trouble believing these measurements unless you actually have Fragile X! If you're getting erections and ejaculations like the other guys, XXY is unlikely and your physician can check to see if you're producing sperms if you can give him a reason. Enjoy becoming a man.

Does a child have klinefelter syndrome due to his own mutation or due to mutations his parents carry?

Extra X chromosome: There is not a mutation in the conventional sense as none of the genes are abnormal. The phenotypic male, with a y chromosome, has more than on x chromosome, associated with poor testicular development, infertility and obesity.

If you have klinefelter syndrome, can your blood tests have normal testosterone levels?

Yes: Check out http://www. Mayoclinic. Org/diseases-conditions/klinefelter-syndrome/basics/definition/con-20033637. Not everyone w/Klinefelter syndrome (extra X chromosome) develops all signs & symptoms. However, given that Klinefelter syndrome typically affects testicular development, it's unlikely for someone to have high normal T levels. So while T may be normal, most likely, it's low normal.
