Kinesio Tape Hand
Hard to do: The thumb usually ends close to where the finger begins. A simple wrap around just slips off the thumb when you sweat. You can purchase or construct a thumb extender and then tape that to the thumb and index finger. Alternatively you can just tape both to the side of your face, but that tends to be rather cumbersome.
The question is: Why tape your thumb to your index. Is it to defeat pain from tendonitis, arthritis or triggering all common conditions that can often respond to NSAID or inejection of corticosteroid and at times certain splints. Intially try a soft splint such as a neoprene (this link is only to show you what I mean) http://astore. Amazon. Com/thehandcenterofw? _encoding=utf8;node=6 many similar devices can help.
Partly.: But eating thoroughly cooked meat and fish is more important.See 1 more doctor answer
A tape worm bit me, didn't get inside, just a bite. It was very small and left almost like a small flea bite on my hand. Am I to be worried?
Tapeworms: Human, and canine for that matter, tapeworms do not bite. They are ingested as eggs or larva too small to be seen and only attach to the intestines after they have grown somewhat. They cannot bite your skin. Since I can't speculate on what actually did bite you, I would say that you should see your doctor if it does not heal up within a few days. Good luck.
I smoked cigarrettes while I had some kind of glue from a tape (it was a sunny day so the glue was melted) in my hands. Can this affect my brain/lungs?
No: Not to worry BTW SMOKING THAT CIGARETTE IS WHAT YOU SHOULD BE WORRIED ABOUT! "A word to the wise" Dr Z
Baby's hands sometimes shake a bit at wrists when he is waking up and stretching. Sort of like a light taping motion 2-3 times (both hands). This doesn't occur when he is fully awake even when stretching. He is 8 months old. It it normal?
Shaking: Or tremors common in the early phase of life is normal in a younger baby but at 8 months he does need a neurologic evaluationSee 1 more doctor answer
I'm an offensive lineman that wants to prevent hand injury by taping my hands and fingers. How should I tape them to get the most benefit?
Tape is usually: Applied one of two ways. (first make sure its not too tight and its better to have a trainer do it if available and the tape should not roll or be too tight aor be too sticky) either single tape to a joint on one digit or buddy tape to keep an injured finger next to another. If you buddy tape often you avoid the joints and pad the area lightly between the fingers, iif you single tape a figure 8.See 1 more doctor answer
How long until a sprained hand is healed? I can move it, but it's still limited. Only using synthetic elastic joint tape. Is the tape a wise thing to use?
How often I have to change my athletic tape? I just use it for a tendon cyst in my hand at the level of my 4th finger.
As needed: Whenever it gets wet or dirty, or about every 3 days usually acceptable.
Docs, I have sprained my left hand last three fingers, pain is improving with rest, not much swelling. Should I buddy tape them? When does it heal fully?
It depends partly on the type of injury and how severe it is. A mild sprain takes about 1 to 2 weeks to heal. Fractures can take weeks to months to heal.
It also depends on the person. Healthy children usually heal very quickly. Older adults or adults with other medical problems can take much longer to heal.
Consult a physician.
My 6 year old has 15 warts over her hands/feet, our doctor has only suggested duct taping them to kill them. This doesn't seem adequate to me! Help?
having lemon, orange, strawberries, tea& zinc to help body get rid of hand warts (tried everything else on planet acid, cryo, tape, acv). might work?
No: Wart-removal acids sold over-the-counter can get rid of hand warts. One's primary care doctor or a dermatologist can freeze the warts. If a person has many warts on her hand, there are other medications that a dermatologist can try. Fruits are not going to get rid of warts... but sometimes warts do go away on their own.
Is a wrist brace useful on a badly sprained wrist? And how should brusing on the back of the hand on the finger bone taken care of? Buddy taping mabye
Perhaps: First of all I would recommend an x-ray to see if anything is broken. If no break, brace might be useful for the sprain. Buddy taping is useful for finger injury
Sprained wrist: Assuming you have a sprained wrist then when your wrist no longer hurts on movement remove the tape and be very gentle for two days and if no pain use your hand normally. If you begin with pain in the two days of limited use seek medical care or resume your tape for another week.See 1 more doctor answer
A few months ago, I jammed my thumb I didn't tape it up and it took about a month to heal, but it still hurts when I put pressure on it when I bend it?
Sore thumb: You should ask your doctor to check your thumb and probably get an x-Ray with special attention to the point of pain. The thumb is a really important finger and you don't want to neglect a joint, possibly get arthritis there, and wish later that you had seen an orthopedic hand specialist.
I hyperextended my middle finger and my ring finger. Is there a specific way I should be taping it to heal?
Hyperex/2digits: Allow a hand surgeon to evaluate and tape you....
Sprained my wrist playing hockey the other night, would I benefit from taping it for future games until its fully healed?
Returning to play...: Before returning to play make sure you have full motion & good strength in your wrist. Once you are ready, taping/ bracing would be a good idea for extra support. Keep in mind that there are several ways to tape a wrist & the best method for you should provide support for injured structures, not put excessive strain on them. Remember: persistent pain may indicate that you need an x-ray/ mri.See 2 more doctor answers
Baseball Tape: Depends on how cool you want to look! No really, what is the purpose of the tape? If it is for support and protection, then whatever feels the best and allows you the movement you need. If it is just a fashion statement then really whatever looks good. Talk to your PT or therapist about what is functional, otherwise, strengthening and bag the tape.See 1 more doctor answer
