I hope your: Kidneys didn't didn't really "shut down" or you would be in kidney failure. You must have become dehydrated even with your attempts to avoid it, or the fluid shifted to a different compartment before returning to your vascular system. ...Read more

Certain foods that you eat that contain a higher amount of purines that can cause more uric acid in the bloodstream which will then cause a gout attack. These foods include shellfish alcohol asparagus beans and a large amount of red meat. You should see your primary care doctor and have a blood test for high uric acid 30 days after you have a gout attack. Not very good: Unfortunately, she is critical and it is unclear if she suffered brain damage or other. I would try to.Make sure that she didn't take anything else by looking at pill bottles. Talk to her doctors for more detailed information. Go in good health. ...Read more

Elderly pt: In elderly patients impacted stools is common and had many reasons. It doesn't reflect that the kidneys caused it or will worsen it. You Mentioned CKD stage III. Ensure she has adequate intake given summer months. She may need her kidney function followed. Best of luck.
