Kidney Stress Symptoms
Stress affects most people in some way. Acute (sudden, short-term) stress leads to rapid changes throughout the body. Almost all body systems (the heart and blood vessels, immune system, lungs, digestive system, sensory organs, and brain) gear up to meet perceived danger. These stress responses could prove beneficial in a critical, life-or-death situation. Over time, however, repeated stressful situations put a strain on the body that may contribute to physical and psychological problems. Chronic (long-term) stress can have real health consequences and should be addressed like any other health concern. Fortunately, research is showing that lifestyle changes and stress-reduction techniques can help people learn ...Read more
Probably: I can not think of any organ, illness or condition that will not benefit from less stress! stress can result in high blood pressure which is not good for our kidneys. In chinese medicine stress is thought to have a strong negative influence on our kidneys. However, simply reducing stress is likely not enough to reverse serious kidney disease, but reducing stress is still likely to be beneficial.See 1 more doctor answer
Stress & kidneys?: stress and anxiety can increase the perception of pain & amt of pain experienced. So, these may contribute 2 pain. Anxiety, by itself, doesn't cause "kidney" pain. Nerve endings that terminate near the kidney will be irritated if the the kidney is inflamed (Bc of infection, for ex) or a stone may cause pain passing thru another structure. Scan Dye Can: Scan dyes used for contrast can cause kidney damage called stress induced nephropathy it is more common in patients who already suffer from some kidney dysfunction like elevated creatinine level but most of time kidney function returns to normal within couple of weeks but in some patients with kidney disease it can be permanent and can lead to end stage kidney failure, and rarely death.
No: You need a 'kidney scan' to better visualisation of kidneys.
My creatinine levels are high. The dr. Says my kidneys are stressed. What can I do to help my kidneys?
Drink lots of water: In meantime, stop taking otc pain medications like Ibuprofen & naproxen. Also review your medications w/your doctor & pharmacist looking for kidney irritants. Then go see your doctor again for repeat testing. If creatinine level remains high (chronic kidney disease), it's time for a more thorough investigation including ultrasound of kidneys looking for stones & damage.
Marked anxiety: Can be held as tension in neck and back muscle which can lead to spasm and pain.
I have a kidney disease that effects me more mentally than physically I cant deal with the anxiety and constant stress of my everyday tasks.
Anxiety: Such chronic anxiety and stress is harmful and requires attention. A psychologist (can't prescribe medication) or a psychiatrist (can prescribe medication) can offer help in the form of stress management. Temporary antianxiety medication may also be used. Discuss this with your primary care physician or nephrologist.See 1 more doctor answer
I did several tests that ruled out kidney, liver&other issues. But I sometimes have pitting edema (not always) but esp when I stand for long&stress. Why?
Venous insufficiency: Most people will get some swelling of the feet on prolonged standing. If the venous return is less than optimal, more water will accumulate in the dependent parts. Try reducing your salt intake to see if that helps. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.
Due to excessive stress issues, my dr put me on Paxil (paroxetine) to try. 10 mg. Will this have a bad effect on stage 4 kidney disease? .
ADJUST DOSE: Will have to adjust the dose as levels are higher. Monitor sodium.
I'd rather give birth than pass another kidney stone. Are my kidneys at risk with the stress of chronic attacks and passing stones? 14 in 10 months.
Kidney injury: Fortunately, a kidney needs to be completely obstructed for a prolonged time (ie. 1 month) before any permanent damage occurs. However, frequent stone passage may increase risks of infection and scar tissue formation within the ureter.
I have weak kidneys but fine now but still little weak? Will bcaa supplement affect my kidneys, will these amino acids stress or affect my kidney?
Branched chain AA: You shouldn't have any adverse effects of taking BCAA in the setting of renal insufficiency or failure. However, you need to take this supplement into account when considering the total amount of protein you are taking per day. Some patients with renal failure need to restrict protein intake to avoid taxing the kidney function. You need to consult your Nephrologist regarding protein intake.
I was due for my period on the day the pain of the kidney stone arrived. Is it still possible my body was stressed enough to skip the cycle?
Possible but you: May wish to do a pregnancy test if you are about 2 week past the date your period was due.
I take 80 mg baclofen daily, don't drink alcohol, smoke or take illicit drugs and kidneys are normal, could problems be caused by stress?
Vague: Please be specific. What exactly is it that you are concerned about?
Does GFR of 54 for 3months, =54%kidney function? I have hypertensive retinopathy, on bp Meds. Eating right. High Stress job. Any Suggestions?
This is serious: Diet and "job stress" are actually unlikely to have much to do with kidney disease, and GFR estimates are only semi-scientific. However, if you're got hypertensive retinopathy, or if you have any abnormalities on urinalysis or testing of urinary concentrating ability, it'd be worth a nephrology consult. Hypertension is both caused by and damages the kidneys, typically. I'd get seen.
63 years old diabetic one kidney removed and rapid heart rate. Ggood EKG good stress test. What else could cause a rapid heart rate.
Iam 57 with HIV fat dis (belly). Kidney removed cancer. My partner of 15 years had alz & passed. I want lipo 2 loose some of the70lb (stress eater) is that possible. Can barley move due to the extra lb?
Can lack of exercise and constant stress cause high bp? All other tests for heart problems, kidney problems and blood problems have come back normal?
Genes and kidneys: Your genetic background and your kidney health are far more likely culprits. Your profile says you're 20-if that's correct, you need a good evaluation for possible causes as essential hypertension, which is the cause in 90% of people, doesn't usually start so early in life. Serious obesity, if present, is an important risk factor.
Cant stay asleep, wake often to feelings of sore muscles in back and sides/ kidneys? Diff mattress no help. Stressed. Can metformin/ glipizide be prob
You can try metformi: Metformin is OK to try. Small doses of Elavil (amitriptyline) or Flexoril at bedtime are also effective for your symptoms. Your doctor can help you with this and adjusting your dose based on how well you sleep. The bigger problem may be stress. It is worth looking into ways to reduce your stress levels. This can help keep you healthy for the future.
