How do you know if you have a kidney stone? There's pain in the area and fever

I have a fever of 99.7. Along with kidney stone signs and pain with urination. Have not had CT scan. What temperature is considered worrisome?

No specific temperat: Having a kidney stone or a stone in the ureter does not have to lead to an elevated temperature. If you have an obstructing stone moderate to severe pain in the flank or abdominal region with associated nausea or vomiting is common. Fevers will occur if there is infected urine present with an obstructing stone. Fevers may be low-grade 99 to 100.5 or high-grade 100.5 - 102. Suggest being evaluate. ...Read more

Could I have picked up the bacteria causing my sepsis over a year ago? Kidney stone last week, its stuck, admitted after second er visit for fever,

Probably longer: The bacteria that cause urinary tract infection -- with or without sepsis, kidney stone, etc -- are not caught from outside. Mostly they are entirely normal in the intestine, and it is likely you have carried the one that caused your sepsis in your intestinal tract for many years, perhaps your entire life. You'll probably never know for sure, and it probably doesn't matter. ...Read more
