See a doctor ASAP: You might have a kidney infection, blockage or stone. Diabetes and high blood pressure can cause kidney disease. Your symptoms should be checked out as soon as possible and treated. I assume that you are taking Methotrexate for your arthritis. This medicine can affect your kidneys. You can ask your doctor if there are other treatment options available for your condition.
The kidneys are paired organs that lie on either side of the vertebral column. Pain above my right kidney. Pain down my legs. Can not sit stand or lay more than a hour at a time. I also am fatigued and have head aches. I also have a her time controlling my bowels and bladder.
I: I am not sure what is causing this. But if you have back pain, pain radiating down your legs, progressive leg weakness and problems with your bowels and bladder this could be consistent with a cauda equina syndrome (a nerve in the lower spine gets compressed). If this is acute, please get seen at the er right away. If this has been there for a long time, please pick up the phone and call your doctor now. Please do not put off getting medical care. God bless.
Lumbar radiculopathy: Hi! kidney pain can mimic pain from the nerves that exit the spine; one difference is that pain from the nerves can radiate into the leg (s). Inflammation of these nerves is caused "sciatica" or "lumbar radiculopathy". These symptoms are often evaluated with a urine analysis and a CT scan or MRI.

Here are some. ..: Your symptoms most likely are not inter-connected. But, it's necessary to sort out what causes which and how to handle your suffering. To do so, collect & bring the info about the onset, degree, duration, interval, progress of all symptoms over time to Doc timely for analysis + physicals, tests as needed, etc. So to deduce possible Dx for reasonable Rx.

Intense kidney pain and stabbing pain in left chest btw ribs, armpit, and left thigh near groin. Ekg fine, said endometriosis could be cause?
I have a knot on the lower left side of my back below kidney. It don't hurt all the time, buy when it does its bad and pain shoots down my left leg.
Complex Pain Synd.: The knot and the pain are probably not related. The knot maybe a lump of fatty tissue called a lipoma. Your doc should give you clear answers. The pain is myofascial and the advil (ibuprofen) and opiates are mucking up your gut and your natural healing process. See my notes. Start a wellness program, add in vits and minerals, start acupuncture, get your wellness team together and you have to be the qb!See 1 more doctor answer

See details: Have the issue evaluated. There are several possible causes and some may be serious. I would suggest evaluation of both abdominal and musculoskeletal causes.
Felt a weird pain/sensation by my kidney and like I felt it pratically trace down my urinary tract. Also had the same feeling in my leg. Opinions?
? Stone: Sounds like you should be checked for a kidney stone.
28f no UTI yet lower left side of back hurts down my leg as well but I feel it may be my kidney. Went septic 4yrs ago from this. Other things possible?
Sciatica?: Since you have a history of kidney problem one always keep that in mind. However your pain is going down the leg which raises the possibility of sciatica due to irritation of nerves in the back. Discuss this possibility with your doctor
I have severe pain with a leg ulcer when I lay down. What can I take that will not damage my kidneys.?
Kidney removed a week ago. No pain around wound, extreme bruising & pain on opp side on torso & leg. Ok walking but trouble sitting/lying down. Normal?
Post-op nephrectomy: If your pain and bruising is on the opposite side of the nephrectomy, I would be concerned for a possible retro peritoneal hematoma, essentially a bruise with a collection of blood that may take long to resorb. When you stand up there is less pressure on the nerves running through that space, you will feel it more sitting. Need to talk to your surgeon about this, esp. If you take blood thinners.
No it does not: Kidney stone does not cause pain down right or left leg.
I've had lower back pain for about a week now. It does go down my right leg but I'm feeling a bit nauseous. Could it be a kidney infeciton?
Less likely: Lower back pain that radiates down one leg is due to compression of the sciatic nerve by a herniated or bulging disc or arthritic changes in the spine. The pain is usually located in the low back well below the level of the umbilicus. Kidney pain from infection is located in the back at or above the level of the umbilicus (belly button). Kidney infection will be accompanied by a fever.
If I'm having pain from kidney stones and it gets more painful and starts radiating down my right leg do I need to go back to the doctor?
Yes: Dear WHarris, yes, if you have had kidney stones in the past and this pain feels the same, then it would be better to have a doctor evaluation. Sometimes, the stones can be too big to pass through and they can block the passage of urine and then the backed up urine can damage the kidney. I hope you feel better soon.
