In 2004 my r kidney became very swollen and had to have a stent for 5 months. Does this make you more suseptable to developing kidney infections?

Follow up: Are you still on Aztreonam? Lymph node swelling maybe just reactionary, you MUST follow up with your PCP or ID physician and tell them , so that they do a physical examination. Especially if you have finished this course days ago. ...Read more

Suitable antibiotics: U need 2c doctor who will send urine culture to identify bacteria causing infection ; which antibiotic will be effective to kill the bacteria. In mean time start u on a broad spectrum antibiotic like Cipro (ciprofloxacin) or Bactrim for 2 weeks whilst awaiting urine culture result ; chnage antibiotic if necessary. Macrodantin shouldn't be used (poor tissue penetration). Drink lots of water ; get lots of rest. ...Read more
