Normal size: The renal length varies with height and weight and decreases slowly with age. Right kidney is usually slightly smaller than the Left. Normal size ranges from 9-12 cm (90-120 mm) and the difference in size should not exceed 2 cm. **So the size of the kidneys is normal. Normal creatinine: Usually creatinine normal level varies between persons depending on their muscle mass. A body builder will have high creatinine than a thin or emaciated person. A man will have more than a woman. If you are about a 170- 200 lbs male, your creatinine will be about 0.8 to 1.1 if more, the kidneys are weak unless your 200 lbs are all muscles! a woman of same weight has less creat .6-.9unless muscular. ...Read more
My sgpt is 73 and ggtp is 93. Rest is all normal on liver and kidney function test. Please suggest?

Hello month ago I had a kidney function test done and my bun reading was 0.75 my alt was 48 and my aST was 27. A week ago I had a random urinalysis done and was told that my creatine level was 308. Can you please tell me if these results are normal or is
Need units of: measure. All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, it would have been useful to know the units of measure of BUN and creatinine. Urine creatitnine by itself is not a useful test. Your AST is higher than normal and it would do you good to abstain from alcohol. ...Read more
