Kidney Disease Cause Rib Pain
22 yo f in good health experiencing mild pains on right lower rib cage. Pain in right back when running. Kidney disease or liver cancer likely?
Q 4 Physiatry, Sport: A healthy runner would be unlikely to have a major illness. Hence if I saw someone in my college town practice who was 22, I would refer her to orthopedic surgery or sports medicine clinic for initial evaluation. I would not drop things there, however. I would communicate with all of the consultants, look at ehrs, speak with the patient about changes and continue to refer to specialists as needed.See 1 more doctor answer
The kidneys are paired organs that lie on either side of the vertebral column. Part of their critical functions include the excretion of urine and removal of nitrogenous wastes products from the blood. They regulate acid-base, electrolyte, fluid balance and blood pressure. Through hormonal signals, the kidneys control the ...Read more
I recently found out I have chronic kidney disease (stage 3). I just noticed brown spots on my chest (like liver/sun spots). Could these be related?
My heart feels like it is going to beat right out of my chest. I a minute, it will skip 5 to 6 times. I can't get an accurate pu family history: diabetes, heart disease, bleed out stokes, kidney disease, bi-polar, dirks disease
Palpitations: Palpitations (irregular heart beats) can be caused by multiple conditions. It is important that you have an ekg and be evaluated. Electrolyte disturbances in our blood (sodium, potassium), medications, thyroid condition or even underlying heart disease can cause palpitations. Sometimes the easiest thing is to have your local firefighters run a rhythm strip for you, and they will advise if you need to go to the hospital. If you feel lightheaded, faint, have any chest pain or symptoms, then you need to be seen as an emergency.See 1 more doctor answer
Could fatty liver that is borderline enlarged cause chest wall pain or rib pain? I am aching in my right kidney area and sore when you push. No UTI or kidney problems
Heavy Metals: The extent of kidney damage caused by heavy metals depends on the dose, route and duration of exposure. Cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), lead (Pb), platinum (Pt), and Chromium (Cr) and they can cause heavy metal nephropathy and the severity could range from tubular dysfunction to renal failure/death.
CKD causes: There are many causes of chronic kidney disease (ckd). Among them are diabetes, types 1 and 2, hypertension, exposure to drugs that harm the kidney, obstruction of the urinary outflow tract, amyeloid, glomerular diseases of the kidney and HIV to name several. See a nephrologist for more information about the cause of ckd in your case. Good luck.See 1 more doctor answer
Cause- unknown: Exact etiology for PKD unknown. Some researchers swear that genetics plays a big role-- hence ADPKD and ARPKD (autosomal dominant type and recessive type). But then there are other tapers not genetically oriented. Some hypothesize-- something goes wrong in signaling at cellular level during renal development--- pronephro/ mesonephros/ metabephros stages!
Inherited disease: You inherit polycystic kidney disease, so it is reasonable to be evaluated if you have a parent with polycystic kidneys. Evaluation will likely include a painless ultrasound (sound wave) examination. If you know you have polycystic kidneys, you want to do everything you can to protect their function. At some point, though, you may need dialysis or a transplant. Talk to your doctor. LGromkoMD
Given that high BP can cause kidney disease, but going the other way, what is it about kidney disease that causes high bp?
Kidney disease - BP: Diseased kidneys retain sodium and sodium retention elevates BP; diseased kidneys also secrete renin in excess; renin generates angiotensin and angiotensin tightens blood vessels, particularly arteries, and this elevates BP also; angiotensin also retains sodium and promotes aldosterone synthesis, and aldosterone also retains sodium; and then high BP damages kidneys more - a vicious cycle!!!!See 1 more doctor answer
My uncle was diagnosed with kidney disease that is requiring chemo. What's the name of the disease &the causes he's also been getting dialysis.
Sex hormone issue: Renal failure has very widespread consequences on normal body function. In regard to gynecomastia, this results from decreased testosterone production and an increase in LH and FSH; the female hormone equivalent. The latter results from less excretion in the urine. This hormone imbalance causes Breast enlargement that typically resolved within a year.See 2 more doctor answers
Bit of a stretch but: OK....I can understand why your doctor would say that because CKD can in fact cause peripheral neuropathies which is the likely mechanism behind the tinnitus. But it's certainly not anywhere close to the most common symptoms. Has your doctor looked at other causes such as medications, infection, and of course the most common cause, hearing loss....Huh? HEARING LOSS!
Mostly infections: Bacterial infections that produce certain toxins such as a type of e coli recently found in germany but also present here can cause a serious disorder called hemolytic uremic syndrome with sudden kidney failure. Streptocaccol infections of a certain type can cause nephritis due to antibodies produced against them.
Well,: Usually chronic respiratory problems such as emphysema cause this. Finger clubbing is not really seen with kidney disease. However, kidney disease can cause a build-up of nitrogen waste products in the blood, which can damage nails.
Lots of causes: There are many causes for chronic kidney disease (ckd). Most common that I see for patients that need dialysis access are diabetes and poorly controlled high blood pressure. Another fairly common one is an inherited condition called polycystic kidney disease. Other causes include immunologic diseases which attack the kidneys, and anatomic problems that cause blockage of the kidneys.
Kidney Diseases: Some of the causes for kidney disease (kd) are diabetes, hypertension, hiv, glomerular diseases, use of nephrotoxic drugs or exposure to nephrotoxic agents, obstruction of the urinary tract polycystic kidney disease, among others. See a nephrologist to be evaluated for the cause in any particular case.
