What can cause dizziness, tingling in arms and legs? I notice it gets worse when I worry and am in public. Could this be anxiety or panic attacks?

Yes but more eval: Considering your history of symptoms in public and when feeling worried, it certainly could represent a panic attack. Hyperventilation: Yes - sometimes during anxiety or panic attacks you breathe faster and may hyperventilate - lowering the carbon dioxide level of the blood too low - this may cause the tingling in hands and feet and around your mouth. For 57+ female, is occasional cramp of left leg in winter nights due to osteoarthritis (known) or kidney disease (not yet diagnosed) ?

Hard to say: Patients with kidney disease can have subtle changes in their electrolytes that can lead to cramping. Osteoarthritis is a common cause of lower extremity pain. There are multiple other possibilities. Seeing a primary care doctor for a good medical check up is probably a good place to start. ...Read more

What is the treatment for calciphylaxis nephrogenic fibrosis dermatopathy for chronic kidney disease patients. The inflamation on both legs r unbearab

The 2 are different: Calcipylaxis is probably what you are referring to.Vpainful dark leg lesions that later ulcerate and actually may heal in my experience over months. The problem is its incapacitating pain and infection development that make mobility not possible. Most pts request to quit dialysis. May use local Lidocaine 2% gel on it to kill pain. Of 14 pts I have seen, 2 healed in 3 months both on 500 mgcipro/day. ...Read more

Is muscular exercising to strengthen arms and legs in someone with one kidney, creatinine 1.49 & eGFR 42 harmful because it may increase creat.level?

Is muscular exercising to strengthen arms and legs in someone with one kidney, creatinine 1.49 & eGFR 42 harmful because it may increase creat.level?

No: It's good for you. In fact, if you're working out and feeling okay at age 68 with a creatinine of 1.49, I seriously doubt you have anything wrong with your kidneys beyond a bit of age-related wear-and-tear, or any reason to be concerned. When I was lifting daily as a young doctor, my creatinine ran 1.6-1.7. Hit the gym and treasure the time there. ...Read more

Past 2 months pain in left side of head base neck. Now I have random pain and numbness/tingling in arms and legs. What's wrong? Symptoms mimic MS

Explanation: Although MS can be a tough diagnosis due to vague symptoms, I would doubt your problems are caused by MS. Suggest you have an MRI of your neck, as that is most likely the anatomic location for your issues. Your head/neck pain could be c/w Occipital Neuralgia, and could consider problems in arms/legs due to peripheral neuropathy if neck films are benign. ...Read more

Frequent headaches for 10 years. GP says tension in neck. Last 2 months tingling in arms and legs, comes and goes. GP says due to neck tension? True?

Not sure: If this is truly all from the neck, you have a spinal compression that needs to be addressed. I suspect that you suffer from generalized tension. This is a frustrating problem but is very manageable. I would suggest a sympathetic yoga or tai chi teacher, but there are many ways to skin this cat ...Read more
