Depends: I would like to know where the pain starts. If it originates at the buttock it is possible that the problem could be coming from the back despite not having back pain. My advice would be to get an EMG to rule out a radiculopathy, consider imaging of L-spine and Right Hip, and based on these results decide further tx. Have burning numb sensation in lower legs. Sometimes burning sensation in thighs. Pain in lower back and when bend over could this be herniated disc?
Isolated?: If this is isolated to the upper back and no radiation into the arm or arms, then most likely a myofascial pain issue. There are several small nerves that run through the layers of muscles in this area. Restriction in the fascia can cause these nerves to get pinched that can cause the burning sensations. Need more info: Back pain is multifactorial. More historical information, examination & possible lab/radiographic studies are needed to really nail down the cause. Could be hernia.: A hernia could exist without a discernible bulge. The other symptoms are consistent with a hernia. Could also be kidney stone, an issue with the sigmoid colon, pelvic lymph node enlargement...in short, you need some testing.
