Kid in class cracks knuckles. I hate it. What to do?

Inform him or ignore: Two options: 1) you can tell him nicely to please stop doing it. But he can do it if he wants. 2) just ignore it and focus on something else - at times, people have annoying habits - you just have to let it go unless it's significantly bothering you and others. ...Read more

I have cracking in my arches, If I don't crack them my arches hurt. I use small balls to pop them, which doesn't hurt to me, but others say it does.

Keep Cracking.: It seems a small price to pay in order to have painless arches. As long as you have no other symptoms, I see no immediate reason to change you success. This doesn't mean that other symptoms related to the popping, may not develop in the future. For now, it works. ...Read more

I crack my nose cartilage like some people crack their knuckles. Is it bad? What damage can it do?

I crack my nose cartilage like some people crack their knuckles. Is it bad? What damage can it do?

Bad idea: You could conceivably dislocate your nose (requiring that it be fractured and set), and at any rate you might cause inflammation of cartilage that could be very unpleasant. Even the sound of knuckle cracking freaks some people out. If they saw (and heard) you cracking your nose you might get punched in it! ...Read more

Why do my ankles swell up so much when flying? What can I do to stop this as it looks awful on the beach!

Why do my ankles swell up so much when flying? What can I do to stop this as it looks awful on the beach!

Support hose: You are a bit young, but could simply be fluid accumulating in your legs from having them "hanging down" and not moving during the flight. Wear compression stockings (20-30 mm hg) when flying and move your feet + legs periodically. Stay hydrated. Given that you are on zantac (ranitidine) at 30, i suspect a dietary/metabolic issue issue as well. Zantac (ranitidine) can deplete mg - consider supplement. Good luck. ...Read more

I see people popping their necks... I have never popped my neck like them. Is it safe to pop the neck? If so how can I do so safely?

Probably: It's probably safe, but unnecessary. Some say it can lead to arthritis. I know of no studies that support this. If you want your neck cracked, go see a competent D.O. (doctor of osteopathy). Check the american academy of osteopathy to find a physician. ...Read more

Why do all my joints seem to crack (painless) and how do i stop/reduce it from happening?

Why do all my joints seem to crack (painless) and how do i stop/reduce it from happening?

No one knows: There are a number of theories about why joints 'crack' or cavitate, but none have been proven. Some think that it is caused by small bubbles in the joint space, others believe it is caused by 'microadhesions.' Nothing needs to be done to stop it unless it starts causing you discomfort. ...Read more

So my friends tell me to get over my fear of stuff in sports to push myself but how do I do that. Then ''just do it'' is turned into a face plant lol?

Risk: All sports have a certain level of risk. All you can do is train well and with the right person. Then you give your all nod you have an accident, it is part of the business. That said, you have to decide what is the level of risk and effort that you feel comfortable with and think positive. There are sports that carry minimal risk. Do your homework and find something you enjoy. ...Read more
