Ketosis Symptoms Urine
Ketosis describes a state of increased ketone bodies in the blood stream. Ketone bodies are generated from the breakdown of lipids (fat) when there are low levels of blood sugar or cells are not able to absorb the blood sugar present, as in diabetic ketoacidosis. Some diets which limit carbohydrates cause low blood sugar and may also result in ketosis. Ketone bodies disrupt the acidity of blood and when dangerously elevated can overwhelm the buffering ability of the body and ...Read more

WBC's & UTI: A clean catch urine usually does not contain wbc's, which may indicate a sign of asymptomatic bacteria in the urine(urinary tract infection). The urine can be sent to a lab for culture & sensitivity to see if any bacteria will grow to confirm or not the possible infection. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Is diabetes insipidus life threathening?Doc investigating if its anxiety or insipidus. All blood n urine test normal.Since 3 days high thirst, urination
Life-threatening: due to effects on electrolytes (sodium). If it isn't low, or inappropriate amounts in urine (sodium pee'd out, when it should be held in) then it isn't diabetes insipidus. Vitamin B12 deficiency is from zero in the diet (strict vegan diet), or from malabsorption. If meat in diet, then there is zero reason to take b12 by pill--doesn't get in, then pill won't help. ...Read more
Can symptoms of nondiabetic renal glycosuria happen only in the evening? (invert sleep cycle too) see nephrologist soon, +ketostix urine=sweet smell
This doesn't add up: Non-diabetic renal glycosuria (i.e., the kidney spills glucose despite normal blood levels) doesn't produce symptoms. Urine odor doesn't reflect glucose levels at all reliably. Ketostix often yield +1 for no reason, or because you're hungry. With dysautonomia and gastroparesis, is there perhaps a misunderstanding, with diabetes a possibility? You have a right to full information. ...Read more
Slight foamy urine.spot urine test-protein 5mg/dl,creatinine 37mg/dl,albumin 2 mg/litre.Is it normal or proteinuria ?
Proteinuria: We generally calculate the urine protein to creatinine ratio and as long as the ratio is below 300 mg/g it is considered not significant (yours is only 135mg/g) so your proteinuria is not significant. But the Albumin level you mentioned, is it serum (blood) Albumin level? If yes, it is very low and unlikely! Please verify your Albumin level and it's source (blood or urine) . ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Does kidney failure typically cause urine pH fluctuations & protien in urine, but normal bun and creatine?
Renal failure: Renal failure implies the kidneys are not working. When that happens, BUN and serum creatinine rise. Ph fluctuations in urine are normal. Mild amounts of protein in urine can be normal. So, kidney failure can cause a whole bunch of urine changes, but BUN and creatinine have to be abnormal to make this diagnosis. ...Read more
