Moisturieze: Do not scrub as it willo irritate and make it worse. Keep it well moisturized. Am lactin 12% is a good moisturizer because it contiains 12% Lactic Acid and penetrates and moisturizes from the inside and does not just sit on the surface. The skin has a fatty layer and needs something acidic to penetrate in order to provide the deeper layers with moisture.

Keratosis pilaris is there any treatment for it?

Keratosis pilaris is there any treatment for it?

KP tx: There are some rx meds, but this condition is a skin type, not a disease. It is not cureable. I like the otc/beauty line by dermadoctor called kp duty. The keys of treatment are exfolliation and emollients. If otc doesn't help I would consider seeing the doctor.

Dermatology: Keratosis pilaris or chicken skin, a common, autosomal dominant, genetic follicular condition manifested by rough, slightly red, bumps on skin most often on the back and outer sides of the arm can also occur on the thighs, hands, and tops of legs, sides, buttocks. Phrynoderma is a follicular hyperkeratosis probably due to deficiency of vitamin a or of essential fatty acids & may be confused.

Is keratosis pilaris cureble with treatment in homeopathy?

Keratosis pilaris: There is no 1 homeopathic remedy that cures all cases of this condition, but consitutional homeopathic treatment may help. A skin problem is only one expression of a deep level disturbance. You can work with an experienced homeopath who will take your whole case & prescribe accordingly; selection will be based on your whole being. Omega-3 and vitamin a supplementation may help too.

Keratosis Pilaris: Bumpy skin on arms, thighs, trunk is called keratosis pilaris and can also commonly occur on the cheeks. Scrubbing often just makes it red and irritated, picking can leave scars. A lotion containing 12% Lactic Acid can help dissolve away the bumps, but it can take a few weeks to work.

Can laser treatment work for keratosis pilaris?

Maybe: Keratosis pilaris is an unrelenting condition that never goes away. Lasers don't actually work get rid of it. However, microdermabrasion, ipl, and fractionated lasers can help to flatten it out and make it appear better. In theory, if you remove hair follicles the keratosis pilaris can't occur but I have not seen great results.
