Chelation is the name for administering a substance to remove heavy metals from the body. It can be an important treatment for lead poisoning or iron overload. It is also touted by some for the treatment of autism spectrum disorders, based on the idea that these children may have toxicity from mercury or other heavy metals. However, there is little evidence to support this hypothesis. Chelation agents bind metals nonspecifically and may result in dangerously low levels of calcium, iron, and magnesium, in addition to toxic heavy metals. Thus, ...Read more

Unlikely combination: I don't know of any reported interactions between fucidin cream and the common skin lighteners, which usually use hydroquinone as their active ingredient. But I've never run into a situation where both were used at the same time on the same area of skin. Dark spots are not usually infected, and vice versa. ...Read more

Maybe.: Desitin (zinc oxide diaper cream) is zinc oxide, which has two principle purposes. It is very effective as a moisture barrier (hence used on a baby's bottom to prevent diaper rash) and as en effective sun block. Side effects form cortisone shots can include weight gain, increased appetite, anxiety, irritability, insomnia, effects on bone health, and increased blood sugar. ...Read more
