Probably not: Dull aches in left arm (often with numbness, shortness of breath, sweating, post exertional) could bea cardiac symptom due to similar "wiring" between nerves going to heart and arm. These symptoms usually start centrally and radiate to the distal arm. Time for Neurologist: These are such unusual symptoms that have followed allergy shots, so one should be cautious about blaming the injections on these new problems. Arms are innervated: by spinal cord roots C3-T2. Sudden pain is worrisome, but wrist & hand weakness is even more concerning. Your doc needs to obtain brain & C-spine/upper T-spine imaging *now* to look for either a central or peripheral lesion, especially if this is your dominant hand. Don't sit on this. Rt Arm Pain & Weak: Sometimes pathology in your neck can cause symptoms like this out of the blue (disc bulges or protrusions). Stenosis (narrowing around the nerves) can do this but usually see this in much older patients. Nerves that appear to be involved in your hand are C6, C7, & C8. If you meant shoulder joint down, then C5 may be an issue too. UCC or ER can prescribe Medrol (methylprednisolone) dose pack. See if arm gets going. ...Read more

The veins in your arm should collapse as you raise the arm to shoulder height.
