It's fine: It is fine, even healthy, to engage in brisk walking or mild jogging in the first trimester as long as you are feeling up to it. This action actually improves circulation and cardiac output, which is healthy for the baby. Workout: At 20 y/o, if you're training for something like an ironman or crossfit competition or competition, this is not over taxing. Yes: Yes as long as you have been evaluated by your prescribing doctor and he monitors your blood pressure and heart rate. It is often best to ease into exercise if you have been inactive. Start walking first. There is no need to jog which puts more stress on your joints, a problem if you are still quite heavy. And do some weight/muscle toning too. Both types of exercise are important to reduce loss of muscle as you lose weight and exercise seems to help keep the weight off.
