Get checked: It is unusual to get pain in both hips in some one of your age if you over did it then it generally is on one side occasionally some inflammation of the joint or some other immunologic problems can cause pain in joints that are bilateral best to let your doctor to examine you and then decide which tests to order next i hopes this helps. ...Read more

If the surgery was recently, it may be irritated/inflamed from surgery (positioning?) or from certain rehab exercises or overcompensation to protect AC joint. Abscess: You may be describing an abscess or pus pocket eg painful swelling. Best to go see your Family Doc ASAP for evaluation & treatment as you may need to get swelling lanced & drained then started on antibiotics. Go to Urgent Care or ER if necessary.
