Maybe early signs: Menopause often starts slowly with a missed period, then normal, then a few missed..... It can also be less blood and shorter and different side effects. See your OBGYN or Dr to clarify, but this is possible at 49. Still do use birth control if you do not want a baby! Best! Read more

Is a missed period normal?

Is a missed period normal?

It may be, BUT could be pregnancy: Pregnancy is certainly the most common reason for a missed period when sexually active. An anovulatory cycle (your ovary just does not release an egg that month), thyroid conditions, rapid weight fluctuations, extreme exercise, stress, etc. Are all other causes that may be possible. If you are having sex unprotected, check pregnancy tests, otherwise if you miss your next one too, see dr. For eval. Read more

Missed period negative test?

See your doctor.: I assume from your question you had a negative pregnancy test. The menstrual cycle can vary by a few days from month to month, so if your period is only a few days late, I wouldn't worry. However, if your period is delayed by more than just a couple days you should repeat the test and call or visit your doctor. Read more

What does a missed period mean?

Anovulation: If you missed a period and your pregnancy test came back negative, then you most likely had an anovulatory cycle, meaning your ovaries didn't release an egg. This happens from time to time but if consistent, see your doctor because you may have a hormonal imbalance. Consider a birth control consultation to regulate your periods and avoid unplanned pregnancy. Read more

Can low blood cause missed period?

Can low blood cause missed period?

Anemia: Can low blood cause missed period? I believe what you are refering is if having low hemoglobin level can cause a missed period. The body can sense that there is a low level of hemoglobin and hematocrit (blood components) and might cause a delay in your period to replenish itself.
