My name Jeff I have had a back surgery three weeks ago and are having problems peeing is this normal?
Maybe, maybe not: Unfortunately this is a difficult question to answer in general. It all depends on the type of surgery and what the precise location in the back the procedure was performed. If you have any concerns, they should really be relayed to your surgeon for further follow up. Every surgery has risk and complications, and those are very specific to the type of procedure. ...Read more
I am 53 years old and in the last year I've begun seeing many raised white spots on my legs. I am concerned with the appearance. Any idea of what they are and how to have them removed? Is there a health concern I should be concerned with? Thank you jeff
Very: Very difficult to tell without a clinical examination so I would see a dermatologist. Perhaps they are seborrheic keratoses, specifically the "stucco keratoses" variant. See a picture of a pigmented version at the link below. I hope that helps. ...Read more
Not sure: What you are describing, but if it is completely involuntary, it could be a seizure. If you don't lose consciousness or become incontinent, it is probably not a generalized seizure. You need to see a doctor to figure this one out. ...Read more
A detailed history is needed.
Uncontrollable body jerks could be seizure, if you have one side jerking and you are aware of it, this may represent simple partial seizures, if the jerking all over the body and you are fully awake, so this can not be seizure as generalized seizure causes complete brain shut down and loss of consciousness, electroencephalogram can help in diagnosis. ...Read more
Meniscus tear: Additional activities, especially high impact or ones that involve twisting and pivoting, can cause meniscus to tear further. If/when you have this fixed, more of the meniscus will be damaged and thus more will have to be removed to stabilize the injury. The less meniscus you have left means less padding and greater chance for arthritis. ...Read more

Unethical & Criminal: This is sexual abuse. Touching does not need to occur to be defined as sexual abuse. This can be very harmful to the females involved. This should be reported to child protective services and to the police. When one knows of such a harmful act- to do nothing is collusion. It is the responsibility of all to protect children - for they are often in a position where they can't protect themselves. ...Read more

What's the worst?: The greatest danger is a possible stalking situation. Read up on this and if this is the case, respond appropriately. Otherwise, this is part of life that we all go through -- almost everyone has a failed relationship and most of us have someone unwilling to let go. Seek the advice of mutual friends, be kind but firm, and set appropriate limits. ...Read more

Circadian rhythm: We have an internal clock that is aligned with the 24 hr light cycle where we live. When we travel, especially west to east we are not aligned with the light in that time zone and our internal clock won't let us fall asleep sooner. Going west we can generally stay up later, but will have a tendency to wake up at our normal time which will be very early for the time zone we're in. ...Read more
West is best: Traveling from west to east is harder because our circadian rhythm won't let us fall asleep earlier than we're conditioned to do. Going from east to west is easier, because we can stay up later while it's light out better than falling asleep earlier when it's dark. ...Read more

Change your schedule: If you are young, less than 30 or so, a few hours difference won't bother you much. Going west is less of an issue than heading back east. To prepare: go to bed 45-60 min later each night for few days before heading west or 45-60min earlier each night for few days before heading east. The further u travel, the more hours/days u need to change. Have fun wherever u r heading. Be safe and good luck. ...Read more
Various factors: It depends on your direction of flight, and how many time zones you will cross. If only 1-2 time zones, you will probably be okay, but if 3 or more going east, you will need equilibration.
