I am having a horrible headache with throbbing jaw pain on both sides of my upper jaw & neck. Does this sound serious?

First, : First, you should go to health services and have them check your blood pressure since your pulses seem unusually strong to you. The other thing you should do is to make an appointment with your dentist. You may be grinding your teeth at night and experiencing temporo-mandibular joint dysfunction. The TMJ is the joint between the mandible (jawbone) and the temporal bone just in front of the ear. The pain would radiate from inflamed tmj's to the temples and the jaws. I was at dinner last night and had a margarita. After dinner I had a very intense jaw pain, with tingling, on both sides. What could it be?
Have periodic jaw pain at joints on both sides but on a regular basis. Using numbing medication relieves it. X-rays at dentist shows nothing.

Perhaps but...: Cold sores are a general term and many individuals incorrectly use it to describe both canker sores\aphthous ulcers and herpetic sores. Both present differently and have different implications. Finally I would not associate those sores with "extreme" jaw pain.
