Possible butUnlikely: If your pain is provoked by spicy foods, overeating, eating near bedtime, and NOT provoked by exercise / exertion, it is much more likely Reflux than from the heart. On the other hand, if the pain is caused by exertion, and/or you have a family history of heart disease at young age (in mom, dad, sister, brother), then you should be more concerned about the possibility of heart disease. Systemic sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that can involve arthritis, tight shiny skin, lung disease, serious kidney disease and gastroesophageal reflux.
